Stu Kincaid is a versatile piano bar musician
who plays a broad selection of styles and genres and prides
himself on making every person in the room feel welcome.
His
smooth, soulful, “after dark” voice, along with
his tasteful piano playing have kept Stu playing repeat residencies
at various hotels throughout Australia.
He is also often heard
belting out a night of crowd pleasers at the more lively venues
along to his full band backing tracks (current resident “piano-man” at
Hotel Albion, Port Melbourne, Australia and Mentone Hotel,
Mentone, Australia).
His roots are in soul and funk, however his solo performances
incorporate everything from Jazz ballads to classic rock and
modern pop - with some dance and occasionally some 80’s
classics thrown in for good measure! Whatever is required for
the venue or the night, Stu will deliver.
Stu has fronted many successful bands, most notably, Melbourne
12-piece original funk band, Funken Wagnells. This band enjoyed
great success, touring the East Coast of Australia ten times,
headlining the Equinox Music Festival in New Caledonia, headlining
the New Year’s Celebration of Melbourne (1999) in front
of 40,000 people and releasing two critically acclaimed albums.
Stu studied jazz piano under one of the legends of Australian
jazz, Ron Rosenberg. Ron has played with such household names
as Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Judy Garland and so on… and
has passed on to Stu his knowledge and love of jazz standards
and showtunes from the 1920s, through to the 1970s.
Stu has taken his solo show throughout Australia, with residencies
and repeat performances at many venues including:
• Palazzo Versace, Gold Coast;
• The Royal Pines Resort, Gold Coast;
• The Marriot Hotel, Gold Coast;
• The Radisson Hotel, Gold Coast;
and many, many more...
